I regularly walk my city and its hinterlands drawing pictures, collecting ephemera, and writing stories in my sketchbook. I document the neighborhoods, city streets and open spaces that I journey through.

Once back in my studio, I sift through these recordings and choose the most important to re-examine and rework into larger drawings and paintings. With simple tools, I am thoughtful of each line and brushstroke put on paper being mindful to properly represent the core of what I am depicting.

Walk through any city and one sees the familiar. I am interested in capturing these understated moments because they are relatable to us all, and at the same time, there is still mystery, and questions that have yet to be answered. My art reveals the essence of common scenes and the frequent events that our lives revolve around. I want to uncover the soul of each subject that I draw.
